There’s a moment every camper knows. The tent’s up, the kettle’s on, and the only thing on the agenda is the river. At Molloy Holiday Park, tucked along the Blackwood River just outside Augusta, that feeling lasts all through spring and summer.
Spring: everything turns green
Spring is when the bush around the park comes alive. The trees are green, the wildflowers start popping up along the tracks, and the mornings are cool enough for a jumper and a hot coffee by the water.
It’s also a great time to see the wildlife. Kangaroos graze around the park in the early morning and late afternoon, and the kookaburras make sure nobody sleeps in too long. The days are mild, the river is calm, and the park is quieter before the summer holidays, so it’s the perfect time for a slow weekend away.
Summer: long days on the water
When summer arrives, life at Molloy moves to the river. Days start early and finish late, with plenty of time for a swim, a paddle or a lazy afternoon in the shade.
Our private boat launch puts you straight onto the Blackwood, so you can spend the day exploring the river, throwing in a line for bream or finding your own quiet spot upstream. No boat? No problem. Canoe hire lets you get out on the water at your own pace, and the kids can burn off energy on the pedal carts.
As the sun goes down, it’s back to camp for a barbecue, a few stories and a sky full of stars.
Made for families and friends
Molloy is the kind of place where kids ride their bikes around the park, make friends at the next site and fall asleep the second their head hits the pillow. For the grown-ups, it’s a chance to switch off, sit by the river and do absolutely nothing.
Whether you’re bringing the caravan, pitching a tent or staying in one of our cabins nestled in the bush, you’ll have plenty of space to spread out and settle in.
Easy to explore from here
Augusta is just down the road for supplies, a coffee or fish and chips by the water. Venture a little further and you’ll find Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet, and the beaches and wineries of the Margaret River region.
